1995 Pian delle Vigne

Antinori acquires the Pian delle Vigne estate which consists of 186 hectares (465 acres) of vineyards and woods. Pian delle Vigne is located six kilometers (3.5 miles) to the south of the town of Montalcino above the Orcia river valley. It takes its name from a characteristic railway station – whose name is Pian delle Vigne -  dating from the 19th century situated within the estate’s boundaries and still in use.
The first Antinori Brunello di Montalcino “Pian delle Vigne” vintage was marketed in the year 2000.

1995 P. Antinori Cavalier of Labor

Piero Antinori is honored with the title of Cavalier of Labor by the president of the Italian Republic, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.
The type of recognition is awarded to Italian citizens  “who have shown important merits”, distinguishing themselves “in agriculture, industry, commerce, artisan activity, finance, and insurance”.

1994 Nobel peace prize

Israeli leaders Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin, together with Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, receive the Nobel peace prize for “their efforts in obtaining peace in the Middle East”.
